Kashira Dowridge is a Detroit-based filmmaker and photographer whose interdisciplinary practice centers on storytelling that bridges personal and collective experiences within BIPOC communities. Her work delves into themes of healing, identity, and resilience, using experimental narratives and documentary approaches to create deeply resonant visual stories. Inspired by her background in fashion and self-taught filmmaking, Kashira brings a unique perspective to her projects, blending vibrant color theory, layered visuals, and deeply rooted cultural narratives.

Her recent film, Time Will Tell, examines self-discovery and authenticity, while her installations, such as Drive-By, Drive-By at SideWalk Festival, create spaces for collective healing.
